The
warps are already made and the looms are threaded so come and have a go. This
workshop is specially designed for complete beginners to weaving. Come and have
a play and take home some samples.
All

Learn
how to make a warp and prepare the loom ready for weaving.

Workshop 4 shaft loom twills
This workshop will explore 4 shaft twills and
different threading plans. Composite samplers are woven to illustrate the basic
textures and effects that can be achieved with the four shaft weaves.

Workshop 4 shaft loom overshot
This workshop will explore 4 shaft overshot. Creating patterns
using floating threads.

Fibre Reactive
Dyeing (1) An introduction
Learn
how to use Fibre Reactive dyes to create a wide range of shades
and colours on any natural fibres. In this in introduction we will cover the
preparation of yarn, dyeing cotton (& other vegetable fibre) by immersion
as well achieving a range of colours. We will focus on how to do each process
safely at home.
This
will be a small class ensuring lots of hands-on experience. All materials used
on the course will be provided. There will be an opportunity to buy more skeins
for later use.

Fibre Reactive
Dyeing (2) Painted Warps
Learn
how to use Fibre Reactive dyes to create a range of shades and
colours to be painted on a cotton or silk warp (£10 extra).
This
will be a small class ensuring lots of hands-on experience.
